In 2011, we were given the task of providing a heating system suitable for a stone built church. The church at the time was undergoing indoor renovations and being brought into the 21st century. The congregation felt that a large open church with no fixed pews would be the best option for the church. With this in mind, everyone thought the best option would be underfloor heating and who better to undertake the job than Total Floor Heating.
Once the floor insulation was laid, we started to lay the PERT-AL-PERT tubing down. The manifolds where positioned in the boiler house, located at the rear of the building, below ground level. Due to the shape of the building, a lot of planning had to go into how we were going to position our tubing. As the stage in the church was located directly above the boiler room, we decided that we were going to bring our pipes from the manifold, under the stage and into the church. With our clipping rails down we could start unreeling and laying the tubing. In total, we laid over 2000 meters of tubing in under 3 days.
